Previewing Thursday the 4th of September’s racing action from Sedgefield is none other than Derek ‘Tommo’ Thompson, courtesy of our friends at Freebets.com the home of betting sites.

Sedgefield looks very interesting on Thursday night. And in the six o', clock, the race that is called the Honky Tonks handicap hurdle, over three miles and three furlongs, I can't remember a race at Sedgefield that has attracted runners from such top trainers as Paul Nichols, Jamie Snowden, Jonjo O'Neill and Neil Mulholland.

But despite the fact they all have runners and merit the highest respect, the one I'm going for is Broken Ice. Now, he comes from John McConnell's stable in County Meath and he came over and won at Perth last time out. He gets in with a lightweight and I tell you what, he could take all the beating in this stamina test.

The 6:30 is a 2 1/2 mile handicap chase and I like number two Dream Jet here. Brian Ellison trains this horse. This horse was fourth at Market Rasen last time out, looking as if the extra half mile would suit him down to the ground. Obviously, Limerick Leader, who's been first or second in his last four starts, looks a big danger, as does the course winner, Delpotro, if you can forgive his last run. But I fancy Dream Jet

In the seven o', clock, the two-and-a-half-mile handicap hurdle, go for number five, Spot On Soph. Jonathan England rides this for his wife, Sam. Now, this horse has been in the frame in his last two starts over two miles.

And the way the horse stayed on to be fourth over two miles last time out suggests to me that the extra half mile will be right up his street. Mr Le Philosophe looks a big danger as this horse has won two of his last three. And The Navigator looked to do quite well when he had to work hard at Cartmel last time out.

But I think Soph will be spot on in the seven o' clock.
