A fixture at Sedgefield since 1955, The Durham National is the biggest race to take place at the racecourse, and draws a large crowd each year. The race happens every October and is run over three and three-quarter miles. Usually accompanied with live entertainment, it makes a great autumn day out in County Durham.
The winner of the 2025 Durham National was Ivane.
2024 saw Jesuitique take the title for Charlie Hammond and Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole.
In the years before that, Tommie Beau took the title in 2023. Decorated won in 2022, and Red Giant crossed the line first in 2021.
