Sedgefield Racecourse aims to offer a comfortable experience for all, with easy access to all areas. We also offer free admission for personal assistants of paying customers with accessible needs.
Please note many of the paths and main areas are tarmac, though some areas will require you to cross grassed areas. Please be aware of changing ground conditions in rainy weather, and notify one of our stewards if you require help.
Personal Assistant Tickets
Personal Assistants will receive free admission to the racecourse when accompanying a paying guest with accessibility needs.
Personal Assistant tickets can be claimed by bringing in proof of accessible needs on the day of racing e.g. a Blue Badge (with accompanying photo ID), Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or signed letter from GP (with accompanying photo ID). You will need to buy a full price ticket first either online and on the day and then speak to a member of staff on the turnstiles about claiming your free personal assistant badge.
Please email email@example.com at least 24 hours in advance with your name and details of the fixture you wish to attend to arrange these tickets. Subject to availability.
Please be aware that the only external covered viewing is located in the two Grandstand and Paddock stands and can only be accessed via terraced steps. In the event of rain, there is cover in the bars all of which include a TV screen.
We do advise that you bring waterproof clothing and an umbrella if rain is forecast, particularly those confined to a wheelchair who may experience a delay in reaching a covered area.
We have a designated, reserved area close to the admissions turnstiles for accessible needs parking, though we do recommend early arrival (particularly on feature race days) to secure your parking in this location. If you advise our car park stewards of your accessible needs, they can direct you to the reserved parking. Please be aware that although our car park is on flat land, it can be uneven in places.
