JOHN WADE NOVICE HURDLE RACE SERIES

John Wade has notably sponsored the Selling Series at Sedgefield Racecourse for a number of years, however in 2010 John kindly supported the idea to enhance racing by changing the Selling race series to a Novice Hurdle race series which began in September, culminating in the final in April 2011 to complement the Durham National Race on the same card. We are delighted that John continues to support Sedgefield with this excellent series. The qualifiers have proved to be very popular with entries from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

THE DURHAM NATIONAL

One of the highlights of the racing calendar here at Sedgefield, this year’s race has moved to the beginning of April. In keeping with the ‘National’ theme being a week before the Aintree spectacle this year’s race will be run over 3 miles, 6 furlongs, a quarter of a mile longer than in previous years. We are once again hoping to attract some of the leading owners, trainers and riders for this year’s renewal.
