Sedgefield Racecourse recently announced a special guest appearance and live DJ set from Craig Charles for the annual Ladies Evening fixture which will take place on Thursday 31st August.

The annual raceday, which gets started at approximately 3.00pm and the first race at approximately 5.00pm, will include seven live races, best dressed ladies and gents competitions and live entertainment after racing with a superb DJ set from Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show.

Craig Charles said, “I am really looking forward to DJ’ing at Sedgefield Racecourse as I know their audience is a fun and up for it crowd. It’s a great concept – a day at the races and then a night dancing to the great tunes I will be playing. See you there!”

The legendary actor, host and broadcaster Craig Charles is one of UK’s most beloved characters. With its 6 Music Saturday night broadcast, with its assortment of classic gems and emerging artists, Craig has garnered global support as one of the world’s foremost Funk and Soul commentators, DJ’s and promoter of new music. The show has become a European benchmark for artists who want to connect directly with their fans.

As a DJ, Craig Charles has captivated crowds throughout the UK – the Maestro of funk has played at numerous festivals such as, Love Box, Park Life, Festival No 6, Wychwood Festival, Common People and Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul festival to name but a few. Highlighting 2016, Craig played to over 10,000 people at the world-famous Arcadia and Shangri-La stage in Glastonbury. With a jammed packed 2017 in the making, the funk and soul train keeps movin’ along without a stop in sight – in the words of the soulful don himself, ‘No Sleep til Bed Time’!
